SEW gear reducers have become indispensable specialized equipment in industrial production machinery.
As the times advance and high‑tech technologies continue to develop, our living environments are steadily improving. Moreover, industrial development in China has reached new heights—unprecedented levels. Why is this so? Because industrial progress has given rise to a wide array of technological innovations and capabilities, enabling us to enjoy greater comfort and ever‑higher productivity under increasingly favorable conditions. Consequently, the range of specialized industrial equipment has grown considerably, including SEW gear reducers, conveyors, screw conveyors, gear drives, computer‑controlled machinery, helical gearboxes, electric motors, and more. Each type of machine has its own unique characteristics and performance specifications. So, among these, just how significant is the role of SEW gear reducers? Let’s take a closer look.
When it comes to SEW gear reducers, they offer significant improvements in reducing rotational speed. To achieve exceptionally low output speeds, one can leverage the connection method of two-stage gear reducers. With this approach, the drive system design becomes straightforward: rather than estimating the reducer’s output torque based on the motor’s rated power, the actual limit torque is determined by the motor’s output power. As a result, the gap between these two approaches is substantial—almost unimaginable and difficult to grasp. Consequently, the performance of the reducer is clearly evident. During assembly, striking components with hammers is strictly prohibited; installation should be carried out using dedicated tooling. The bearing end covers and threaded connections are secured by tightening them with foundation bolts, as any other method risks damaging internal components.
Therefore, the operating principle of SEW gear reducers is quite straightforward; improper assembly, however, can lead to far more serious consequences. In severe cases, it may even necessitate returning the unit to the manufacturer, thereby preventing misalignment and fracture of the output shaft. Such failures are relatively rare, but when they do occur, they often stem from inadequate installation or insufficient consideration of operational conditions—factors that are readily apparent yet difficult to address. Under these circumstances, the equipment proves remarkably robust, and its true performance is plainly evident.
