  Characteristics of Three-Phase Induction Motors

  1. The Y-series three-phase induction motors feature square or round outer frames, with radiators arranged in longitudinal and transverse parallel configurations; all units are constructed entirely of cast iron. Additionally, models H63 through H112 are available with aluminum alloy die-cast housings.

  2. The Y-series three-phase induction motors feature a shallow end‑cover design, with an increased number and larger dimensions of internal reinforcing ribs. All models are constructed in cast iron; the H63–H112 sizes also offer an aluminum alloy die‑cast housing. To facilitate operation and maintenance, models above H180 are equipped with a no‑stop oil‑filling device.

  3. The junction box has an IP55 protection rating. To reduce the motor’s weight, junction boxes for frame sizes H63 to H280 are die-cast from aluminum alloy (cast iron versions are also available), while those for H315 to H355 are made of cast iron. A dedicated grounding device is provided inside the enclosure. For frame sizes H160 and above, the installation location of the thermal protection device is carefully considered; the power supply entry features a dual‑hole configuration, with two sealing options: a cover‑type seal and a lock‑tight seal. Typically, the junction box is mounted above the base and allows wiring on all four sides. Additionally, for cast‑iron bases in the H80 to H355 range, the junction box may be positioned on the side of the base.
