Cycloidal gear reducer
Working principle: When the input shaft and the rotating arm rotate together about the center, the cycloidal wheel revolves around the center. Due to the reaction force of the needle teeth fixed to the needle gear housing, the cycloidal wheel also rotates about its own axis, and this rotation is transmitted at a constant speed to the output shaft via the pin sleeve and pin shaft, thereby achieving speed reduction.
Structural Composition: The cycloidal pinwheel reducer’s entire transmission system can be divided into three sections: the input section, the reduction section, and the output section.

High reduction ratio: For a single-stage reducer, the speed ratio ranges from 1/11 to 1/87; for a two-stage reducer, it ranges from 1/121 to 1/5,133; and for a three-stage reducer, it ranges from 1/2,057 to 1/446,571. Additional stages can be combined as required.
High transmission efficiency: Thanks to the use of rolling contact in the meshing area, the transmission efficiency can exceed 90%.
Compact size and light weight: Thanks to the planetary gear principle, the input and output shafts are aligned on the same axis and directly connected to the motor, resulting in a compact structure.
Fewer failures and long service life: The primary rotating and meshing components are manufactured from bearing steel, offering excellent wear resistance and superior mechanical properties.
Reliable and smooth operation: The transmission features multi-tooth meshing, resulting in low noise.
Easy disassembly and assembly: The structural design is well-optimized, facilitating maintenance.
Other features: strong overload capacity, impact resistance, low inertia torque, and suitability for frequent starting and reversible operation.
Harmonic drive reducers are widely used as speed-reducing mechanisms in a variety of transmission systems, including applications in lifting, material handling, mining, metallurgy, petrochemicals, textiles, printing and dyeing, light industry, pharmaceuticals, grain processing, feed production, and food‑processing machinery.
The cycloidal gear reducer stands out among numerous reducers primarily due to the following notable advantages:
High transmission efficiency: Thanks to the uniform distribution of contact stresses on the tooth surfaces of the cycloidal–pinwheel gear pair and the simultaneous engagement of multiple teeth, the transmission efficiency exceeds 90%.

High load-carrying capacity: The meshing design between the cycloidal gear and the needle gear gives the reducer a high load-carrying capacity, making it suitable for heavy-duty operating conditions.
Smooth transmission: The simultaneous engagement of multiple teeth and the uniform distribution of contact stresses on the tooth surfaces ensure a smooth, shock-free transmission, thereby reducing noise and vibration.
Compact Structure: The Cycloid Gear Reducer features a compact structural design, with a small footprint and light weight, making it easy to install and maintain.
Long service life: Thanks to its high transmission efficiency, minimal wear, and superior material selection, the Cycloid Gear Reducer boasts a long operational lifespan.
